T4 Watercolour Painting Beginners October - December 2017, Jannali SGSCC
Create watercolour paintings while enjoying watercolour washes and colour mixing. Learn the basics of tonal variation, types of watercolour brushes, types of watercolour paint and focal point placement to create a visually satisfying image. We will start with a basic landscape and progress to still life. This course is best suited for beginners.
What to bring:
Tube paints – Red – Alizarin crimson, Blue – cobalt, yellow – cadmium yellow.
Optional extras: raw sienna, burnt sienna, cerulean, ultramarine, viridian, hookers green.
Watercolour Paper – A3 or quarter sheet. Recommended brands: Arches, Saunders Waterford, Art Spectrum. 300 gsm preferred. Rough texture preferred.
Brushes – Medium round brush, small dagger brush, medium hake brush.
Your tutor will bring along a range of brushes that you can borrow for the first lesson and you can see what to purchase for the continuation of the course.
Masking tape, pencil, rubber, masking fluid, support board (to tape your paper onto), tissues, 2 x water containers, round palette, old towel (to collect water run-off) & spray bottle.
